Team MCV: “Keep it Local’

Conservation organization releases 2023 municipal candidate education memo to help pro-conservation candidates win

(HELENA, Mont.) – Today the Montana Conservation Voters Education Fund released their 2023 municipal candidate education memo to spotlight the conservation issues Montanans care most about. The memo provides background information and recent polling on a variety of issues, as well as detailed and specific examples of how recent federal and state legislation is impacting local communities throughout the state.

“One thing that continues to be true when talking to voters about conservation issues – keep it local,” said Whitney Tawney, Executive Director of Montana Conservation Voters Education Fund. “This memo details how legislation like the Inflation Reduction Act has impacted the entire state, providing new funding for agriculture conservation programs, bolstering soil health and water quality on Montana farms and ranches, and creating new jobs in agriculture while also investing in clean energy. At a time when Montana is rapidly changing, it’s more important than ever that the folks running to represent Montanans at every level of office know how to best advocate for our state’s incredible outdoor legacy. ”

The education memo was distributed to every candidate and is publically available on the MCV Education Fund website here.
