The MCV Education Fund Releases #GiveItAVote Vodka

The limited-edition vodka calls on Senator Daines to allow legislative action on the Blackfoot Clearwater Stewardship Act

(MISSOULA, Mont.) – Today, the Montana Conservation Voters Education Fund held an event to launch their custom vodka, #GiveItAVote Vodka, in Missoula. The batch of Montana-sourced spirits presses Montana’s junior Senator, Steve Daines, to support the Blackfoot Clearwater Stewardship Act (BCSA) and allow it to move forward for a vote.

Once again, we’re here asking Senator Daines to support this Montana-made, Montana-approved legislation,” said the MCV Education Fund’s Executive Director, Whitney Tawney. “With an astonishing 83% of Montanans who want to see the Blackfoot Clearwater Stewardship Act passed, it’s high time for Senator Daines to join in and support giving this bill a vote.”

The legislation is the culmination of a years-long collaborative effort involving people up and down the Blackfoot and Clearwater valleys who represent a broad spectrum of interests – timber, ranching, outfitting, local business, and conservation. The event served as an opportunity to celebrate the many conservation wins in the legislation and call on Senator Daines to support the highly popular bill. Guests were treated with BCSA-themed cocktails and went home with a bottle of the #GiveItAVote Vodka. Gulch Distillers of Helena produced the custom label vodka for the MCV Education Fund.

The legislation was introduced by U.S. Senator Jon Tester last year and is awaiting a markup in the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources. Senator Daines sits on the Committee but opposes the measure unless it’s paired with legislation to strip an unknown number of wilderness study areas of their protections. This would likely result in the loss of protection for hundreds of thousands of acres of public lands across Montana.

The MCV Education Fund is a proud member of the Blackfoot Clearwater Stewardship Project.
